研究執務スペースの打合せテーブルの使われ方についての研究
－レイアウト変更実験を通して－
本稿では、技術研究所本館の研究執務スペースで実施したレイアウト変更実験による執務者の行動の変化を、行動観察調査を用いて分析することで、レイアウトの違いが打合せテーブルの使われ方にどのように影響するのかを考察する。2010年5月に執務を開始し、調査結果の分析より、この研究執務スペースではエリア外の人との打合せが多く、執務者は、自席の近くに外部の人が頻繁に出入りすることに不満を感じていることが明らかとなった。この結果をふまえ、2011年10月に個人席と打合せスペースを分離したレイアウトに変更した。レイアウト変更後の執務スペースにおいては、打合せの人数や継続時間、利用目的によって打合せテーブルの使い分けがなされるようになったことが明らかとなった。
Use of meeting tables of workplace in R&D division
- An experiment in layout changes -
This article presents the results of an experiment in changing the layout of workplace of the Institute of Technology. The results are based on observing worker behavior in the workplace. Workers began using the workplace in May 2010. The observations revealed that outsiders and visitors frequently use the meeting tables to meet with workers who have desks in the workplace. Moreover, the workers were not satisfied with this situation. Based on these results, the layout of the workplace was changed to separate the meeting tables from the workers’ desks. The workers began using different meeting tables based on the number of people, the length of the meetings, and the purpose.
