花卉による人工地盤緑化システム「年中花見月」の開発
集合住宅、事務所ビルなどといったさまざまな建物のエントランス部、共有スペース、ベランダ、屋上などの人工地盤上を花卉によって緑化するシステムを開発した。新しく開発した花卉緑化システム「年中花見月」の特徴は、(1)宿根草や低木類などの植物に軽量薄層基盤を適用したこと、(2)灌水(水遣り)管理の少人化を図ったこと、(3)永続性のある宿根草や低木類などの中から、一年を通して開花植物を観賞できるように植物を選定したこと、(4)水辺ユニットなどを植栽域に組み込めるようにしたことなどである。本稿ではその開発経緯を示すとともに、同花卉緑化システムを用いて実際に植栽域を施工し、維持管理を行った結果について報告する。
Development of a Totally New Greening System Using Flowering Plants in Containers
This paper describes the development of a new greening system that places containers of flowering plants at the entrances, common areas, verandas, and roofs of buildings. This greening system, called “Nenjuu Hanamizuki,” allows us to enjoy flowers throughout the year. The system has the following features: (1) the thin-soil-layered and lightweight planting container can be used for many kinds of plants; (2) the container stores rainwater, simplifying irrigation and maintenance; (3) The plants are perennials, bulb plants, and shrubs that can be enjoyed throughout the year; and (4) the system permits the use of a waterside unit. In this paper, we describe the development process and the results of experiments. The usefulness of this new greening system was verified through tests and observations.
