環境指標動物を用いた地域生態系保―パストラルびゅう桂台におけるニホンリスの保全―
山地・丘陵地における大規模な住宅地開発に際して、森林生態系を代表する環境指標動物としてニホンリス(以下、リス)を選定し、その保全対策を実施することにより地域生態系の保全と良好な住宅地環境の創出を目指した。開発初期におけるリスの生息状況を調査し、その結果に基づいて各種保全対策を立案・実施した。また実施した保全対策の効果をモニタリングにより検証した。
Conservation of Regional Ecosystem Applying the General Idea of "Bio-Indicator"―Conserving The Habitat of Japanese Squirresl in a Large Scale Residential Development Site, "Pastoral View Katsuradai"―
With the aim of conserving the local ecosystem and preserving the fine residential environment, we selected Japanese squirrels as bio-indicator which represents forest ecosystem in a large scale residential development site in a mountainous region or a hilly region. We took several measures for the conservation of Japanese squirrels by investigating their habitats. We verified the effect of the measures by continuous monitoring.
